Day 0: Demonstrating next-generation maritime connectivity
The Techritory experience began even before the main event, with Day 0 demonstrations at the Freeport of Riga’s Baltic Container Terminal. During the Next-Generation Maritime Connectivity Use Case Demonstration, LMT showcased cutting-edge 5G maritime solutions, developed in collaboration with partners including Beyron, SUBmerge Baltic, RTU Science and Innovation Centre, SPARK Boats, and LVR Flote. International delegations from across Europe witnessed firsthand the potential of 5G in maritime operations.
The demonstration featured a fully integrated ecosystem of 5G-powered port applications, including:
▪️ Automated drone-based crane inspections
▪️ Real-time data transmission from ship to shore
▪️ Remote control of unmanned surface and underwater vehicles
All of these were powered by LMT’s private 5G network, ensuring continuous, secure connectivity across the port – a crucial enabler for the future of smart maritime logistics.
Experiencing innovation firsthand: Techritory’s Expo Zone
This year marked the debut of Techritory’s brand-new Expo Zone, where innovation took center stage. Designed with a technology-first philosophy, the zone invited attendees to experience hands-on demonstrations and explore prototypes from some of the region’s most forward-thinking organizations and solutions – from autonomous maritime systems to advanced communication technologies.
At the LMT stand, visitors had the opportunity to explore 5G, IoT, and smart city technologies, diving deeper into how next-generation connectivity is shaping critical industries and everyday life. The showcase reflected LMT’s ongoing mission to transform ideas into impactful, real-world applications.
Other exhibitors included Rīgas Brīvosta, LVR Flote, MikroTik, Nokia, Rohde & Schwarz, VASES, and LVRTC, as well as a dedicated Startup Corner by LIAA, featuring emerging innovators such as SUBmerge Baltic, Beyron, Exonicus, Bruntor, RedFrog, and Natrix.
