On February 17, 2026, LMT received a Global Mobile (GLOMO) Award nomination in the Best Mobile Network Infrastructure category for the Private 5G network in Baltic Container Terminal (BCT) project. This nomination comes on the heels of widespread international industry recognition, with the project highlighted in various forums, as well as among GSMA’s Private network community case studies.

With over 240 independent judges reviewing GLOMO Award submissions, reaching the shortlist is another strong endorsement from some of the industry’s most respected experts and will see LMT compete against such mobile infrastructure heavyweights as Huawei, China Mobile, ZTE, and Helium.

The winners will be announced during the official GLOMO Awards Ceremony at MWC26 Barcelona’s Turing Stage on Wednesday 4 March 2026 at 17:00 – 18:00 CET.

The GLOMO Awards are the most prestigious honors in the mobile sector, presented by the GSMA, the world’s leading mobile industry association. Past recipients include renowned brands such as Apple, Nokia, Amazon, and Microsoft.

Developed in partnership with Druid Software, the BCT deployment represents a breakthrough in industrial connectivity. By replacing a fragmented legacy Wi-Fi system of 22 access points with a highly efficient private 5G solution using just two antennas, LMT has achieved full, low-latency coverage across a 50-hectare port area. This ultra-low-footprint architecture utilizes the Raemis™ 5G core to support mission-critical operations, including crane automation, real-time IoT sensor data, and a software-based push-to-talk system that handles voice, video, and imagery seamlessly.

The impact of the deployment is both immediate and transformative, delivering a 30% reduction in vessel and truck turnaround times through improved operational stability. Beyond efficiency, the project serves as a sustainable blueprint for the circular economy, drastically reducing energy consumption and material usage. By acting as a systems integrator for this high-margin, scalable model, LMT has established a new economic standard for how mobile operators can drive digital transformation in ports, logistics hubs, and industrial sites globally.

Last year, LMT was nominated in an entirely different category – Best Connected Consumer Device – for our innovative AER smart smoke alarm and air quality monitor. The back-to-back nominations and their broad technological versatility serve to illustrate LMT’s deep innovation and sprawling impact, while reaffirming the company’s recent strategic pivot, transforming from telco operator to technology company.
