In 2021, LMT’s clients saw the 5G network turn into an accessible reality, as LMT’s product offering grew to include the Chateau 5G router, jointly developed by LMT and Latvian technology company MikroTik.
The LTE/5G-supporting router became available to LMT clients in May 2021 and instantly met a high demand. Since then, the Chateau 5G has been the No.1 router choice among LMT network users.
According to the OECD, Latvia is among the top 3 countries in mobile data usage. Therefore, as a Latvian mobile operator, LMT is closely familiar with the requirements of demanding mobile network users. By developing the Chateau 5G router in close collaboration with MikroTik, we made sure the device provides needed functionalities to both mobile operators and the 5G network end-users.

Plus, the router supports TR-069 technology, which enables a custom remote client management option, allowing mobile operators to, for example, update the router’s configuration permissions and customize parameters. The router also supplies mobile operators with much-needed monitoring capabilities.
Additionally, MikroTik offers a convenient mobile app to the Chateau 5G router users, enabling them to manually configure router parameters in case of need.
LMT’s customer service team has reported that clients who had previously experienced issues with network coverage have seen a significant improvement in network availability with the Chateau 5G router in place. Moreover, in case of any technical issues with the routers, MikroTik’s specialists are quick to respond and solve occurring difficulties.
5G has moved from dreams into reality, enabling new technological possibilities. Such products as the Chateau 5G router can provide fast and reliable connectivity to a wide range of users.
