Over the next three years, LMT’s traffic monitoring solution will enhance road safety in another Latvian town – Ādaži. Integrated into the municipal monitoring system this March, the solution will automatically detect traffic violations. Data on non-compliant drivers will be transmitted directly to the Road Traffic Safety Directorate (CSDD) and Municipal Police databases to ensure efficient enforcement and accountability. LMT’s solution has been installed in Ādaži as a result of a procurement and will detect violations of two specific traffic signs in two locations.

LMT Group’s transport monitoring solution is already operational in several Latvian cities – Rīga, Liepāja, Jūrmala, Salaspils, and Gulbene – as well as in Graz, Austria. The solution serves various functions, including recording traffic violations and gathering traffic flow statistics for infrastructure planning.

Latvian cities are increasingly choosing LMT Group's solution to increase traffic safety. As results observed so far show, smart traffic monitoring significantly improves road safety and driving culture, while making a major contribution to urban planning. This is a way to effectively integrate modern technology into daily life, helping achieve practical goals in various fields, including creating a comfortable, safe, and pleasant urban environment,

says Juris Binde, President of the LMT Group.

Oskars Feldmanis, Chief of the Ādaži Municipality Police, comments on the installation of LMT’s solution: “Every city has confusing intersections that can give a false impression that traffic rules are optional. However, it must be emphasized that road signs must be obeyed even if a police officer is not visible nearby. The development of modern technology helps solve such problems easily and conveniently, enabling more effective monitoring of road user behavior and promoting safety in the city, ultimately benefiting the entire community. We are convinced that LMT’s traffic monitoring solution will be a valuable contribution to the collective safety, better driving culture, and mutual respect in Ādaži.”

Developed by LMT, this GDPR-compliant, AI-powered traffic monitoring solution can be installed in just hours, offering municipalities a streamlined path to smart city integration without the need for heavy infrastructure investment. By leveraging high-resolution cameras, machine vision, and edge computing, the system automatically detects violations such as red-light running, unauthorized use of public transport lanes, illegal stopping at intersections, and ignoring traffic light sections. The solution can also record the flow of vehicles, pedestrians, and bicycles and perform additional traffic monitoring tasks. Offenses are processed locally and securely transmitted via mobile networks to authorities for final review and citation.
