The LMT Transport Monitoring Platform has made the finals of the German-Baltic Business Award. Every year, the award has a special theme, and this year’s focus is mobility solutions.
The winners will be determined by jury and public voting and announced on May 11 during the German-Baltic Digital Summit in Lübeck. The public voting is now open on the AHK website.
The LMT Transport Monitoring Platform is a traffic enforcement system that includes an AI-powered plug-and-play camera that detects if a car has disobeyed traffic regulations – such as red lights, average speed limit, or use of public transport lines – and saves the car’s number plate in the system for violation processing.
In 2021, LMT’s Transport Monitoring Platform detected nearly 9000 red light violations at a single traffic intersection in Riga, Latvia. Each of those 9000 episodes could have caused serious accidents.
LMT’s solution is a fast and cost-effective solution to such serious problems. The traffic monitoring camera is unique with its plug-and-play installation. Nothing needs to be built at intersections – installed on a traffic light pole, the camera works with the electricity from it and uses the existing mobile internet coverage. The installation takes less than a day.
The German-Baltic Business Award aims to identify and reward the best mobility solutions created in the Baltic States, as well as emphasize the importance of smart mobility for the growth of the society and economy of the Baltic States.
The award is presented by the German-Baltic Chamber of Commerce. Among this year’s nine finalists, four are from Latvia, four are from Estonia, and one is from Lithuania.
LMT’s Transport Monitoring Platform has previously made the finals for the prestigious DEKRA Award 2021 in the ”Safety on the road” category.
